2. Parking for the vans
Town-centre hotels and flats often come with one space or none, which is no good for two vans and a car. Ask exactly how many vehicles fit and whether there is height clearance. Our cottages have private parking with room for several vehicles, and we will confirm the space for your particular vans before you book rather than leaving you to find out on the day.
3. A kitchen you can actually cook in
Eating out every night for a month adds up fast and gets old faster. Good contractor accommodation in Weston-super-Mare should have a full kitchen with an oven, a big fridge, a dishwasher and enough plates for the team. Ours also have a washing machine, which matters more than people expect when everyone comes home muddy.
4. Weekly and monthly rates, quoted for the whole project
Nightly rates are for holidays. For a project you want a single quote for the full period, with the discount for a longer stay built in. Tell the host how long the job runs and how many people are coming, and ask for one figure. What a good contractor accommodation quote should include
- One price for the full period, with the longer-stay discount already applied.
- What is included: linen, towels, Wi-Fi, parking, utilities and any mid-stay cleans.
- The maximum number of guests and vehicles.
- The check-in and check-out arrangements, including late arrivals after a shift.
- The cancellation and change terms if the project moves.
- Who to call if something goes wrong, and when they answer.
Living well on a long posting
A month away from home is easier in a proper house. Cook together a couple of nights a week and the food bill drops sharply. Use the washing machine rather than the laundrette. Get out at the weekend: Sand Bay beach is at the end of our lane, Weston seafront is ten minutes away and the Mendip Hills are twenty minutes inland. Most of our contractor guests say the quiet lane and the beach walk after work made the posting bearable.
If someone brings the dog on a long job, our cottages are dog friendly with enclosed gardens, and there are dog friendly beaches within five minutes. It is a small thing that makes a big difference to morale.
Where the work is around Weston-super-Mare
Kewstoke is well placed for most of the sites that bring teams to this coast. Weston town centre, the seafront regeneration and Weston General Hospital are ten minutes away. Junction 21 of the M5 gives quick access to Bristol, Avonmouth, Portbury docks and Bristol Airport to the north, and to Bridgwater and the Hinkley Point area to the south. Clevedon and Portishead are twenty minutes up the coast. For anything in Bristol itself, the train from Weston takes half an hour.

Do you supply bedding and towels?
Fresh linen and towels are provided at the start of every stay, and we can arrange changes and mid-stay cleans on longer bookings. Ask for them when you request the quote and they will be included in the price.
Can we bring a work van with a trailer?
Usually, yes, at the cottages. Tell us what you are bringing and we will confirm the space before you book rather than on the day.
